Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, May 14, 2009 at Doctors Hospital, Mrs. Frances Colette Black Blodgett, 53, wife of Russell M. Blodgett.
Mrs. Blodgett was a native of Paris, France and had lived in Augusta most of her life. She was a graduate of Glenn Hills High School and Augusta State University with a major in History. Mrs. Blodgett was a substitute teacher for Columbia County Schools and a member of St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church.
Family members in addition to her husband include her mother: Paulette V. Black of Augusta; daughter: Angelique Knight of Augusta; sister: Melody Ann Black of Atlanta; nieces: Olivia, Stephanie and Alice Black all of Paris, France; nephew: Adam Knight of Atlanta and brother: Michel Black of Montpelier, France.
A Funeral Mass will be held Thursday, May 21, 2009, at 11:30 AM at St. Mary on-the-Hill Catholic Church with Rev. Mark Van Alstine officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Knights of Columbus Patrick Walsh Council. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
