Augusta, GA – Mrs. Frances Thompson Magruder, 89, entered into rest Tuesday, August 23, 2011.
Mrs. Magruder was born in Tuscumbia, AL and later lived in Ashville, NC. She moved to Augusta in the late 1940s. She retired from Warren Baptist Church after 34 years of faithful service. Initially she served as secretary to the late Rev. A. H. Simmons and later as Church Administrator.
Frances was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Magruder. She is survived by a son, David (Adrienne) Magruder of Lemont, IL, a daughter, Merrianne (Bill) Greynolds of Grovetown, GA, three grandsons, William Holifield, James Holifield, Scott Magruder, two great-grandchildren, Carson and Carli Holifield and a sister, Hazel T. Harwell of Asheville, NC.
The family expresses a special thanks to Delana Conners, RN and Betty Balderrama, CNA of Odyssey Hospice and other caregivers over the past few years.
The family will receive friends on Friday, August 26, 2011 at Warren Baptist Church between the hours of 11:00 AM and 12:00 PM. Private interment
In lieu of flowers, Memorial donations may be made to the Warren Baptist Church Chapel Fund, 3203 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30907.
