Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, March 18, 2016, Francis T. Martin, 89, loving and devoted husband to the late Helen S. Martin.
Mr. Martin was a Deacon and member of The Hill Baptist Church. He was a class act and the embodiment of a southern gentleman. He was God fearing and knew exactly where he was going to go. Mr. Martin enjoyed gardening, had a wonderful sense of humor, was honest, hardworking, and worked as a hardware salesman.
Family members include his daughter: Fran Martin Adams and husband Ricky; grandchildren: William Brown (Stacey), Duane Brown (Mandi), and Kimberly Melton (Anthony); great grandchildren: Trevor Brown, Ben Brown, Atticus Martin Brown, Ethan Carlson, Courtney Kauffman, Ivy Melton, and Allie Melton. In addition to his wife, he is preceded in death by his son, Stanley Alfred Martin.
The funeral service will be Monday, March 21, 2016 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Kenneth Word officiating. Burial will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Cary Boone, Russell Blanchard, Bryan Robinson, Michael Tucker, Charles Shearer, and Robert Harman.
