Martinez, GA – Entered into rest Friday, January 25, 2013, Mr. Francis William “Jesse” James, 86, loving husband of the late Shirley Jo Edge James.

Mr. James was a native of Batavia State, NY .He retired from the US Army after 28 years of service and has resided in the Martinez area for a number of years. He was a member of St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church. He was a member of Batavia VFW Post 1602. Mr. James was a mechanic for Shuttle Bus Co. at Fort Gordon and for Lewis Bus Lines and retired from West Town Shopping Center in charge of maintenance.

Family members include sons: Edward C. James and his wife Nancy of Hephzibah, William C. James and his wife Denise of Augusta; daughters: Carol Elizabeth Moffett of Idaho, Melanie William and her husband Larry; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; and a niece: Carrie James of Clifton Park, NY.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 31, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Fr. Michael Roverse officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens with full military honors. Honorary pallbearers will be Victor Duke, Jack Duke, Richard Duke, Jason Duke, Doug Duke, Joshua Carroll, and John Keip.
