Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, November 2, 2014, Mr. Frank Ronald Phillips, 80, loving husband of 62 years to Barbara Becknell Phillips.
Mr. Phillips was born in Washington DC but grew up in Augusta. He was a graduate of the Academy of Richmond County. He retired after 21 years from the United States Air Force as Chief Senior Master Sergeant and retired after 22 years with the Civil Service at Shaw Air Force Base. He enjoyed designing and building his own homes, judo, and was an avid and talented photographer.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Cheryl Phillips; sons: Alan Phillips, Barry Phillips, David Phillips; 12 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. Frank was a very principled man and set a great example for his children and generations to come.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, November 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Barry Phillips officiating. Burial will follow in Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 106 SRP Drive, Suite A, Evans, GA 30809.
