Doraville, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, September 15, 2009, Frank Xavier Mulherin III, 55, son of Joyce James Mulherin and the late Dr. C. Stephen Mulherin.

Frank had a long career in the information technology business, working with companies such as MSA, American Software, IBM, and Cox Communications. He specialized in systems programming of mid-range computers, mostly the AS400. A favorite aspect of his work life was to share his knowledge with others. He never believed in keeping knowledge to himself; he loved to teach and share and collaborate. His eyes would light up at the prospect of taking new comers or anyone under his wing and holding “Lunch and Learn” sessions for his colleagues. He was a quick study and would frequently come up with better processes and tools to accomplish whatever responsibilities his teams were given. Frank was fun loving and loved to play golf. He liked flying airplanes and building model airplanes.

Other family members include sons: Zack and Case Mulherin of Duluth, GA and their mother, his beloved former wife: Leslie Mulherin of Duluth, GA, sisters: Joyce Asher and husband Guy of Collierville, TN, Lucy Hardy and husband Ken of Augusta, and Angela Arnold and husband Jerry of Jonesboro, GA, brothers: Steve Mulherin and wife Debbie of Clermont, FL, Mike Mulherin and wife Glenda of Augusta, David Mulherin and wife Cathy of Augusta and Ken Mulherin of Augusta, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, September 20, 2009 at 11:00 A.M. at Thomas Poteet & Son Chapel with Deacon Al Sullivan officiating.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 12:00 until 6:00 P.M. at the residence of Joyce Mulherin.
