Fred Thomas McCoy
Augusta, GA – Fred T. McCoy, age 75, of Augusta, GA passed away peacefully at home on October 5, 2022.
He is survived by his devoted wife Sally Elizabeth McCoy of thirty years, also from Augusta, GA. He has traveled all over the world serving his country in the United States Air Force. Then later in life he became a heavy equipment operator on multiple construction sites around the Augusta and nearby Hephzibah, McBean area. Fred was also known to be called by his nickname on most of the sites that he worked on which was “Catfish”. Most people on the job sites would always call him by his nickname instead of Fred.
He loved fishing, NASCAR, and watching the Georgia Bulldogs. It didn’t take much to make Catfish happy. He would do anything that he could to help you especially his friends and family.
He was a very educated man, loving, and caring to his wife, his children, and stepchildren. He was generous to the people that he loved and had a great sense of humor but was one of a kind. He will be greatly missed forever and will never be forgotten. He leaves behind his children which are his son Toby McCoy (Sara) and daughter the late Krissy McCoy.
He is also survived by his stepchildren Judy Hoisington (Michael), Hastin Odom (Angela), William Odom, Deborah Sneed (Ira), Hubert Bailey, the late Penny Bailey, and Angel Langley (Ricky). Also his grandchildren, Thomas Paul Laster, Amanda, Hastin (Bubba), Christopher, Rebecca, Chase, Lindsey, Matthew, Derrick, Samantha, Johnathan, Lee, Brittany, Alisha, and Tyler, and all of his great grandchildren. He was very beloved by his entire family.
The McCoy Family would like to thank Shela Camanini and David Couch for their love and support throughout his difficult time.
Flowers can be received at the McCoy Residence in Memory of Fred T. McCoy.
