Frederick “Freddie” Hammonds
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, December 13, 2013, Mr. Frederick C. “Freddie” Hammonds, 60, loving husband of Angie C. Hammonds
Mr. Hammonds was a communications specialist at Wackenhut Services, Inc. for 29 years. He served 6 years in the Georgia Army National Guard. He loved the Lord and reading his Bible. Mr. Hammonds was a die hard Dawg fan, a member of Masters Worship Center and was known as “The Hammer” by his friends at work. He was always encouraging and was witty. He also loved his dog, Riley.
Family members in addition to his wife include children: Scott Hammonds (Margie Hadley), Jason and Courtney Hammonds, Heather and Robert McGee, Jr., Jamie Hammonds, Elizabeth McCorkle; 4 grandchildren; brothers and sisters: Guy Hammonds, Jr. (Velvet), Richard Hammonds (Beatrice), Phillip Hammonds (Sherry), Linda Anderson (Larry), Judy Wilkinson (Randy), Diane Sutton; and 14 nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Catherine Hammonds.
A funeral service will be held Monday, December 16, 2013 at 1:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son. Burial will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be John Arrington, George Rhodes, Steve Rosier, Todd Sawyer, Wayne Dunn, Frank Howard, Johnny Mutch, and Railroad Jones.
