Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on August 2, 2014, Mrs. Gail Ellison Jones, 78, loving wife of 55 years to Bobby D. Jones. She was also a loving and generous mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
She is survived by her husband, two daughters, Jodi J. Siciliano (Bill) of Kennesaw, GA and Joy J. Beaird (Dee) of Martinez, GA; five grandchildren, Morgan S. Williams (Josh), Collin Siciliano, Will Siciliano, Rebecca Beaird and Parker Beaird; and two great grandchildren, Aiden Williams and Emmanuel Williams.
Mrs. Jones, a native of Dallas, GA, was a graduate of Crawford Long School of Nursing. She was a longtime member of Aldersgate United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir and was an active member of the Mary-Martha Circle and the O’Neil Sunday School Class.
She was also a member of the Azalea Garden Club. She loved flowers and was known for her beautiful flower arrangements. She also loved reading, golf, traveling and the beach.
Funeral services will be on Wednesday, August 6, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at Aldersgate United Methodist Church with Dr. Rev. Jim Higgins and Rev. Al Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Aldersgate United Methodist Church Building Fund at 3185 Wheeler Road, Augusta, GA 30909.
