Gene Lott Jr.

Martinez, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, July 4, 2020, Mr. Lester Eugene Lott, Jr., 68, husband of Mrs. Yvonne Stringfield Lott.

A lifelong resident of Augusta, GA, Gene worked most recently as a realtor for VanderMorgan Real Estate. He was a member of Warren Baptist Church, where he was known as “Mr. Gene” and volunteered in the 1 - 2 year old children’s ministry. Gene enjoyed the outdoors, especially family trips to Edisto Beach. An avid football and baseball fan, he enjoyed watching Nascar in later years. Gene was a loving and devoted husband, father and granddaddy.

Family members in addition to his wife include his children: Trey Lott (Lara), Lindsey Oertel (Gerrit); grandchildren: Rebekah Wilson (Carter), Jacob Lott, Charlie Lott, Zachary Lott, Mallory Oertel, Luke Oertel; mother-in-law: Virginia Stringfield and many other loving family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lester E. Lott, Sr. and Barbara Rhodes Lott and brother, Brad Lott.

Memorial services will be held Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Pastor. Drew Robinson officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
