Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, May 7, 2010 at Westwood Nursing Home in Evans, Georgia, Genenia Marian Butler, 88, Wife of the late Lorin B. Butler.

Genenia “Mima” was born July 30, 1921 on Box Plantation in Palmetto Bluff, South Carolina to her parents, Daniel and Elizabeth Crosby. She was the youngest of nine children. She is predeceased by her parents, siblings, and husband of seventy years. Raised in Savannah, as a young woman she worked at Union Camp Corporation. She met her future husband at a Sunday school party on the banks of Turner Creek. She and Lorin were faithful members of Calvary Baptist Church of Savannah. She was employed for many years as head teller at Liberty National Bank and Trust Company, (later Suntrust), retiring in 1973.

Surviving Family Members include: sons, Lorin Daniel Butler (Sharon), James Dennis Butler (Kimberly), 4 granddaughters, Cheryl Skinner (Matthew), Elizabeth Butler, Ashley Watson (Bryan), Olivia Butler, and 2 great grandchildren: Maya and Gage Skinner, and several nieces, & nephews.

Her family would like to thank care-giver Belinda Brooks, and the staff of Westwood Nursing Home for their loving care during her last years.

Entombment services will be held Monday, May 10, 2010 at 2:30 P.M. at Hillcrest Abbey Mausoleum, Savannah, GA, with Rev. Lawrence Butler officiating.
