Mr. George Grovner Disk
Evans, GA –Mr. George Grovner Disk entered into rest on Monday, May 30, 2011 after a long battle with glioblastoma multiforme cancer.
Mr. Disk was born on December 25, 1942 in Grand Rapids, Michigan. After graduating from Washington-Lee High School in Arlington, Virginia, George earned a bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State and spent time working for Union Camp and Georgia Pacific as a consultant. He later received a graduate degree in Computer Science from Southern Mississippi. He spent the last part of his life in the Augusta area, working for over 25 years at Eisenhower Army Medical Center as a computer specialist. George loved to help others and also enjoyed trains, woodworking, and sailing.
Family members include his wife Ginger T. Disk; his son, Tyler George Disk; two brothers and their wives John Disk (Ginny) and Thomas Disk (Deborah); two nephews Nick Disk (Sarah) and Jeff Disk; and one niece Nancy Disk.
A memorial mass will be held on Friday, June 10 at 12:15 pm in The Church of the Most Holy Trinity. The family will receive friends following the mass in the church reception hall.
