George Edward "Eddie" Powell

Grovetown, GA – George Edward Powell, age 70, passed into eternity on Tuesday, October 15, 2024.

Eddie was born in Aiken, South Carolina. He was a maintenance engineer with MAU for many years. Eddie was always working on different projects and tinkering on things. He enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting and riding on his John Deere mower. Eddie was a family man, a devoted husband to Jan, his daughters were his pride and joy, and he could not spend enough time with his grandchildren. He will be greatly missed by those who called him, Eddie, Dad, Papa and Friend.

Eddie is survived by his wife of 51 years, Jan Dye Powell, two daughters that he was always so proud of, Stephanie Hallman (Wayne) and Kimberly Harrison (Chris), six cherished grandchildren, Matthew Hallman, Michael Hallman, Mason Hallman, Meaghan Hallman (Ryan), Tyler Harrison, Emily Harrison, and one great granddaughter, Amelia Hallman.

A memorial service will be held at Journey Community Church. 4798 Hardy McManus Road, Evans, Georgia on Monday, October 21, 2024 at 2:00 P.M. with Pastor Bobby Smith and Pastor Caleb Meeks officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service in the church atrium.
