Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, March 19, 2014, Mr. George “Papa G” Horne Streeter, 81, devoted husband of 58 years to Marie Perkins Streeter.

Mr. Streeter was born in Augusta and attended Academy of Richmond County. He served in the US Navy, from 1950-1954 on the USS Fulton, where he received a commendation for saving a shipmate who had fallen in the strong ocean current. Upon returning to Augusta he resumed his employment with Garden City Engraving as a photo engraver and by 1967 he had acquired 100% ownership of the business. In 1981 he purchased a commercial printing company that became known as Streeter Printing & Graphics, Inc.

Family members in addition to his wife include son: George “Chip” Streeter, Jr. and his wife Tracy; daughters: Julie Streeter, Dana Streeter Hanes and her husband Grayson; and grandchildren: Adam Streeter, Katie Streeter, Grayson Hanes, Harrison Hanes, Elizabeth Hanes, Delaney Andrews, and Hannah Streeter. He is preceded in death by his parents: Bert and Annie Streeter; and by his brothers: Bill Streeter and Ed Streeter.

A graveside service will be Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 3:00 P.M. in Westover Memorial Park with Rev. Greg Porterfield officiating.
