Gerald "Jerry" Aitken

Mr. Gerald (Jerry) Aitken passed away on August 2, 2021. Jerry was a self-employed contractor/ remodeler who enjoyed riding his Harley Davidson, spending time by the ocean, reading, and relaxing at home. He loved nature and animals. Jerry was a loving and devoted father to his two children, Bryce Aitken of Plum Branch, SC and Rise’ Aitken of White House, TN.

Jerry is preceded in death by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Matthew B. Aitken. In addition to his children, he is survived by his siblings, Matt (Melissa) Aitken, Joanne Jessie, Patricia Perry, and Bruce Aitken; nephew, Travis Perry; niece, Cecilia Aitken.

Jerry was a longtime member of AA, where he gained and maintained 33 years of sobriety and went on to mentor and support numerous men and women on their journey toward sobriety. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Jerry’s memory to your local AA support group.

A Celebration of Life honoring Jerry will be held Friday, August 27, 2021, at 6 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 642 Telfair Street, Augusta, GA 30901. 706-262-8900. Pastor John Franks will be officiating.
