Gerald Sapp
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Tuesday, February 3, 2015, Mr. Gerald “Jerry” Edward Sapp, 67, husband of 41 years to Cynthia Sapp.
Mr. Sapp was a native of Winter Haven, FL but made Augusta his home for the last 18 years. He worked for Publix for 40 years and retired as the manager of the National Hills Store where he worked for 18 years. He was very involved with several charitable organizations in the community that were close to his heart. He received the George Jenkins Award from Publix and the Augusta United Way Volunteer of the Year for his charitable giving. He was also on the Board of the Habitat for Humanity. Mr. Sapp never met a stranger.
Family members in addition to his wife include his daughter: Kari Sapp Six; son: Jaret Sapp and his wife Lisa; grandchildren: Elizabeth, Danielle, and Gerald; sisters: Judy Goodrich, Donna Gillis; and brothers: Charles Toothman and Eric Toothman.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, February 7, 2015 at 5:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son and the family will receive friends Saturday beginning at 4:00 P.M. until the time of the service.
