Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, July 5, 2010, Gladys “Annie” Swint Hawkins, 79, wife of Mr. Hunter Hawkins.
Mrs. Hawkins was born on September 10, 1930 and was a native of Stapleton, Georgia but has resided in Augusta since 1945. She was a member of Abilene Baptist Church.
Family members include: husband Hunter R. Hawkins of Augusta, daughters Sandra Diane Robertson (Mark) of Martinez, Phyllis Hawkins (Tommy Suhor) of Beaufort, South Carolina, Deborah McElmurray (Earl) of Hephzibah, sons Robert Hawkins (Patty) of Hephzibah, Mark Hawkins of Evans, sister Faye Smith (Lamar) of Martinez, 14 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 11, 2010 at 2:00 P.M. at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet and Son with Rev. Brian Matthews officiating. Interment will be at 4:00 P.M. in Walden United Methodist Church Cemetery in Avera, Georgia. Pallbearers will be Bob McElmurray, James Lanier, Heath Schondelmayer, Daniel McElmurray, Bobby Hawkins and David Schondelmayer.
