Glenn Boswell

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Medical College of Georgia, Mr. Glenn Boswell, 87, husband of the late Verna Angel Boswell.
Mr. Boswell was a native and lifelong resident of Martinez. He attended Evans High School. He served in the United States Army during World War II in European Theatre. After serving his country he began working at Augusta Arsenal and later retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon. He was a charter member, deacon and trustee of Pine View Baptist Church. Mr. Boswell was a member of the Martinez Masonic Lodge for 50 years. He loved restoring Model A cars and was a member of the “Shade Tree A’s”. Mr. Boswell was a loving father, grandfather and great-grandfather.
Family members in addition to his late wife include daughter: Foncile Powell (Gary Atkinson) of Martinez; son: Ronnie A. Boswell of Augusta; grandchildren: Clay Powell (Charlotte), Brannon Boswell (Glenda), Rebekah Boswell; great grandchild: Elijah Boswell and his friend and companion, Mae Orander. Mr. Boswell was the youngest of nine children and follows his siblings to heaven.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, February 2, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Michael Davenport and Rev. Donald B. Wilson officiating. Interment will be in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Tommy Powell, Tim Beasley, Lester Williams, Lee Gunn, Bill Johnson, Vernon Hargrove and Ronnie Barrett.
