Augusta, GA – Mrs. Gloria Hicks Hensley, 90, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Saturday, October 15, 2016.
Mrs. Hicks Hensley was a native of Millen but has lived in Augusta most of her life. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and she retired from Belk Department Store.
She was the matriarch of a large and loving family. Gloria devoted her life to her children and grandchildren. She was an integral part of all of their lives.
Family members include her daughters: Kate Whitaker and late husband Kenneth, Tonie Lanier and husband Ronnie, Billie Jo Sullivent and late husband Howard, Leslie Hicks Watford and husband Glenn; son: Chip Hicks and fiancé Tiffini Duncan; daughter-in-law: Diane Hicks; 15 grandchildren, 41 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by Charlie Hicks and Simmie Hensley, and grandsons, Lance Lanier and Brandon Hicks.
The funeral service will be held Tuesday, October 18, 2016 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Barry Clanton and Rev. Todd Wiggins officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hillcrest Baptist Church, 3045 Deans Bridge Rd, Augusta, GA 30906, or to Christway Christian Church, 4004 Prescott Dr., Augusta, GA 30907.
