Hephzibah, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, May 1, 2011, Mrs. Gloria T. Young, 74, beloved wife of 58 years to J. Wyman Young, Sr.
Mrs. Young is a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church and former member of Crawford Avenue Baptist Church. She retired from Hillcrest Baptist School as a kindergarten teacher. She loved the Lord and taught her children to love the Lord. Her grandchildren were the love of her life. She was “Nana” to all.
Family members include her daughters: Cheryl Binnicker (Billy) of Hephzibah, Rebecca Knight of Hephzibah; sons: Jimmy Young (Kathy) of Hephzibah, Pat Young (Deborah) of Augusta; grandchildren: Brandi Gaskill, Brett Binnicker, James Young III, Brad Young, Cody Young, Nicole Young, Glorianne Young, Joshua Young, Ranger Knight, Olivea Knight; great-grandchildren: Ashtyn Johnson, Taryn Gaskill, Ryleigh Binnicker; and her brother, Bob Thompson (Betty Sue). She was predeceased by her parents, Boyd and Anna Kate Thompson.
The family would like to thank the Trinity ICU Nursing Staff and Dr. Frederick Rosenblum for their excellent care and compassion.
The family will receive friends at 6:00 P.M. Tuesday, May 3, 2011 with the funeral services to be held at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Dr. Mark Sterling and Dr. Elsie Odom officiating. Interment will be private.
