Gloria Williams Browning
Augusta, GA – In the fullness of time, God called home Gloria Williams Browning, 64, where she met her loving husband George L. at Heaven’s Gates on Saturday, August 23, 2014.
Gloria was born in Wrens, GA, but was a lifelong resident of Augusta. She was a member of Windsor Heights Baptist Church. Gloria loved to garden, decorate, and spend time with her family. Many holidays were spent loving and nurturing her family through fellowship and feast. She was always ready to give with an open heart and loving spirit. She was the Matriarch of the family. In addition to being a go-getter, baby brother Frank called her “The Silver Back” because of her strength and stamina to finish the job.
Family members include daughters: Carol Browning Parker (Gregg) and Kimberly “Cookie” Browning Gaddy (Drew); son: George Michael Browning; grandchildren: Amber and Joshua Brannen, Tony Parker, Katie Gaddy Farmer (Dale), Zachary, Ethan, and Toree Gaddy, Andrew and Whitney Degnan; brothers: Robert McNair (Ann), D. Scottie Williams (Debbie); sisters: Carolyn Johnson, Marie Ledbetter (Herbert), Bettie Williams, and Teresa Rish (Eddie); and mother: Betty Farrer Kemp. She is preceded in death by her father: Arthur Franklin Williams, Sr. and her brother: Arthur Franklin Williams, Jr.
The family wishes to recognize Dr. Michael Shlaer and staff for loving and caring for her throughout her illness.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, August 26, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Chaplain Rick Boland officiating. Interment will be in Bethesda Baptist Church Cemetery, Dublin, GA at 4:00 P.M. Pallbearers will include: Dallas Snowden, Billy King, Caleb Ledbetter, Dean Cook, Zachary Gaddy, Ethan Gaddy and Brad Keeney.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2607 Commons Boulevard, Augusta, GA 30909 or to the University Hospital’s Harry W. Jernigan Cancer Center Fund: 2100 Central Avenue, Suite D1, Augusta, GA 30904.
