Gordon Leon Shepherd

Augusta, GA - Gordon Leon Shepherd, 70, husband of Lori Hebbard Shepherd entered into rest on Monday, September 11, 2023.

Gordon was born April 16, 1953, in Mobile, AL to the proud parents Vernon Leon Shepherd and Orentia Mae Tanner Shepherd.  He grew up in Mobile, AL then later moved to Clearwater, FL with his family. He graduated from Clearwater High School where he excelled in football and baseball. Following graduation, he attended college before being drafted by the Texas Rangers to play in their farm system. For over 30 years he had a career in management at Regency Mall, Pep Boys, and Thomson Motor Center. In his free time, he enjoyed watching Alabama football and the Atlanta Braves. He was an avid deep-sea fisherman and enjoyed spending time with his family vacationing in Destin, FL.

He was preceded in death by his parents. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his daughters Katie Pittman (Chad), Sarah Fowler (Jason), and Jenny Wasden (Clay), his sister Cynthia Shepherd Whitehouse (Norman), and his grandchildren, Emma Kate, Lily, and Baby Pittman; Avery, Easton, and Ansley Fowler; and Wesley Ann, Waylon, and Walker Wasden.

The graveside service will be held Friday, September 15 at 11:00 at Bellevue Memorial Gardens in Grovetown, GA. The family will receive friends following the service.
