Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Monday, November 29, 2010, Mr. Harold Emory Lents, 80, husband of Carol A. Lents of Augusta.
Mr. Lents was born in Detroit, MI. At the age of 16 he joined the US Army. He retired as a SGM E9 after serving 21 ½ years. He then began a career with Richmond County in the tag office and later retiring as a building inspector. He enjoyed wood working, riding his Harley Davidson. He loved his family and adored his great-grandchildren. He was a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.
Family members in addition to his wife include son: Harold Lents, Jr.; daughters: Jeanne L. Ward, Donna L. Hutchinson; stepsons: William Leggett, Eduard Esu Leggett; six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A memorial service, with full military honors, will be held Thursday, December 2, 2010 at 3:00 P.M. at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church with Pastor Roger Schwartz officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday following the service at the church and also on Saturday, December 4, 2010 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. at the residence.
