Harold Eugene Moore

Augusta, GA - Harold Eugene Moore, a faithful servant of Christ was called home on August 2, 2014. He slipped his hand in the nail pierced hand of our savior after a short illness at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Augusta, GA.

H.E., as he was known to his coworkers, had a career in Insurance before retiring to a life of service to his church, and community through volunteer work at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on the Isle of Hope in Savannah, the Might 8th Airforce Museum, the 1996 Olympics and The March of Dimes, just to name a few. He was a faithful husband and caretaker to his wife, Thelma, who preceded him in death.

He was a wonderful father and grandfather and is survived by two daughters: Sandra Moore Jones (Gerald) of Augusta, GA and Deborah Moore Hallman (David) of Leesburg, GA; six grandchildren: Tara Jones Salley (John) of Augusta, Gerald Lee Jones, Jr. (Alice) of Slidell, LA, Melanie Jones Greene (Phil) of Atlanta, Bonnie Jones Zaring (Jason) of Atlanta, Russell Andrew Hallman (Madhura) of Birmingham, AL, and Sarahbeth Hallman DeLoach (Christopher) of Americus, GA. and ten great grandchildren.

A memorial service for Mr. Moore will be Saturday, August 9, 2014, 2:00 p.m. at St. Thomas Episcopal Church on the Isle of Hope in Savannah.
