Augusta, GA – Harold Bane White entered Heaven's gate on June 13th, 2017 at 5:15 pm. He was born on July 17th, 1932 in Georgetown, Kentucky to William and Clara White. He was the last born and the last to die of 10 children.
Harold faithfully served his country in the US Army for 22 years and as a civilian employee for the military for 20 years. He retired in 1995 to become full-time "Pop" to his grandchildren and faithful member of Lakemont Presbyterian Church. All things Kentucky delighted him, as well as gardening, raising birds, and a good long conversation. Some of his last words were praise: The Lord has been good to me!
Harold dearly loved his wife of 64 years, H. Marie Lewis White. He was a kind and generous father to their 4 children, Michael White, Billy (Barbara) White, Shirley (Dave) Willard, and Vikki (Lawrence) Dore and 6 grandchildren, John (Katherine) Dore, Billy (Heather) White, Melissa (Justin) Fish, Jesse (Clayton) Smith, Becca (Justin) Bell, and Sarah Willard, and 6 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service with full military honors will be Friday, June 16, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Bellevue Memorial Gardens with Rev. Dave Vosseler officiating.
In lieu of flowers the family requests contributions be made to the Georgia War Veteran’s Nursing Home, The Blue Goose, 1101 15th Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
