Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, January 22, 2010, Hattie Bourn Phillips, 93, wife of the late Otis Dixon Phillips, Jr. She was the daughter of the late Charles Walton Bourn and the late Martha Ann Camp Bourn.

Mrs. Phillips was born and raised in Atlanta and graduated from Girls High School in Atlanta.

Mrs. Phillips loved caring for her grandchildren. A special memory for each grandchild was visiting the local parks and feeding the ducks at Westover. Her hobbies were knitting, embroidery and crewel. She enjoyed being with her family and going on cruises with her friends. She was retired from Civil Service at Fort Gordon, GA. She was a member of Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church.

Family members include her sons: The late Otis Dixon Phillips, III, Geoff Phillips (Jean) of Martinez; daughter: Pat Preston (Troy) of Social Circle, GA.; grandchildren: Suzanne Phillips, Ken Shockley, Jay Preston, Charles Preston, Laura Smith; great-grandchildren: Johnathon Campbell, Matthew Preston and Lucas Preston. A special thanks to the caregivers at The Plaza at St. John Towers.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 25, 2010 at 1:00 P.M. at Reid Memorial Presbyterian Church with Dr. Leslie Holmes officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
