Augusta, GA – Helen Knight Griffin, 91, passed away August 5, 2014 at University Hospital in Augusta, Georgia. She was the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Hudgins.

Mrs. Griffin, a native of Atlanta, GA, moved to Marietta, GA, where she met her husband Charles C. Knight. She moved to Augusta to raise her family. She worked for Dr. Hudson in Nephrology at the Medical College of Georgia, when she retired in 1979. After retiring, she moved back to Marietta and married George A. Griffin, Assistant Superintendent of Cobb County schools. After having a wonderful life in Marietta, Mrs. Griffin moved back to Augusta in 2003 to be closer to her family.

Family members include grandchildren: Kathryn B. Elliott, Charles T. Bunn, Clay Jones Garrard, Thomas F. Clary and Edwin Nash Garrett; great grandchildren: Jay Elliott, Drew Elliott, Wren Clary, Nicholas Clary, Cale Clary, McCamy Garrard, Ashley Garrett and Nash Garrett, Jr. Mrs. Griffin is preceded in death by her husbands: Charles C. Knight and George A. Griffin; and daughters: Carol K. Walker and Helen (Bena) K. Weathers.

A memorial service will be Saturday, August 9, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Church of the Good Shepherd with The Rev. Robert D. Fain officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the CSRA Humane Society: P.O. 14667, Augusta, GA 30919.

The family will receive friends following the service at the church.
