Helen R. McDonough
Evans, GA- Helen R. McDonough, 91, died peacefully on Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Georgia Regents Medical Center after a brief illness. Born Helen Rita Glendon on November 28, 1921 in Hoboken, NJ, she was the daughter of the late William L. and Josephine Kiely Glendon. She lived in Saddle Brook, NJ for 36 years and Whiting, NJ for 17 years before relocating to Evans, GA in 2004. She was a retired bookkeeper and a member of Most Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her husband of 40 years, Thomas Michael McDonough and her siblings, William, Josephine, Margaret, Mary, and Bernard. She is survived by her daughter: Jo-Ellen McDonough Catto (Brian) of Augusta, GA; sons: Thomas McDonough (Joann) of N. Bergen, NJ, Timothy McDonough (Diane) of Oakland, NJ, and Michael McDonough (Enza) of Suwanee, GA; 10 grandchildren: Tara, Thomas, James, Christine, Janemarie, Brian, Brianne, Timothy, Michael and Lauren; and 6 great grandchildren.
The family wishes to thank Deborah, Vicky, and Denise for their assistance to Helen in her home at Washington Commons and the GRU doctors and nurses in the ER, 4A-ICU and on 5-North for their sensitive and compassionate caring.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday evening, February 27, 2013 from 5:00 until 6:30 P.M. and a vigil service will be held at 6:30 at Thomas Poteet & Son in Augusta, GA.
The family will receive friends Friday evening, March 1, 2013 from 5:00 until 8:00 P.M. at Vander Plaat Memorial Home, Paramus, NJ. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 A.M. on Saturday, March 2, 2013 at St. Philip the Apostle Church in Saddle Brook, NJ with burial following at George Washington Memorial Park in Paramus, NJ.
