Helen Rainey
Augusta, GA – Ms. Helen Tsuneko Rainey, 58, entered into rest Friday, January 27, 2017.
Helen was born in New Jersey but has lived in Augusta for over 50 years. She also lived in Japan for a brief time. She attended Lyndale School, William Robinson School, and Hope School in Miami, FL. She was a member of the Ikebana International Chapter 81, Order of the Eastern Star Chapter 464, and the Sakura Club. Helen enjoyed cowboy movies and loved Star Wars and Mickey Mouse.
Family members include her mother: Hideko Rainey; brother: Tsuyoshi Toya and wife Kazumi; and many other loving family members in Japan. She is preceded in death by her father, James Rainey.
The family would like to thank Eisenhower Hospital’s Oncology Department, Internal Medicine, Cardiology, ICU, and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate care.
The funeral service will be Thursday, February 2, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Masaki Chiba officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be the Ikebana International Chapter 81, order of the Eastern Star Chapter 464, and the Sakura Club.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital, 1001 Johnson Ferry Rd NE, Atlanta, GA 30342. Flowers are accepted.
