Augusta GA– Entered into rest on October 20, 2019, Ms. Helen Proctor Smith of Augusta. Family members include her daughters: Taylor Anne Burtz (Allen), Julia Kavanaugh Smith, Allison Wick; son: Alan Milledge Smith Jr.; parents: Anne Schweers Proctor and the late James Moreno Proctor Sr.; brothers: James M. Proctor Jr.(Kirsten) and Christopher Owen Proctor (Sibita).
A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Friday, October 25, 2019 at 11:00 am at St Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Fr. Mark Ross celebrant. The family will receive friends one hour prior, at 10:00 a.m. in the vestibule of the church.
Helen was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta and a graduate of Aquinas High School. She dedicated her life to her children, grandchildren and her non profit. She was the founder of The Glanzmann's Research Foundation. Her tireless efforts over 20 years have connected hundreds of patients in the GT community across the globe as well as bringing us closer to a cure.
