Helen Wooten Entered into rest in Augusta, GA on Sunday, February 10, 2013; Mrs. Helen Pickett Wooten, 83, loving wife of 56 years to the late Harold M. Wooten. Mrs. Wooten was born to the late Glen Pickett and Annie Wishon Sneed. She was a graduate from Yadkin High School, and worked for Hanes Hosiery and Roses, Inc. for 15 years. Mrs. Wooten was a former member of Winston-Salem Friends Meeting, and a current member of Deep Creek Friends Meeting in Yadkinville. She loved to volunteer in soup kitchens, hospice care, with Yadkin Christian Ministries, and do nursing home visitations. She was also an excellent caretaker of her family. Mrs. Wooten was an avid gardener and she equally enjoyed giving away the fruits from her garden to others. She also really enjoyed growing flowers and kept a spectacular yard. Also, she enjoyed entertaining family and friends with home cooked meals. She was the first at the door to bring a meal if there was a need in the community. Family members include son: Joel Wooten and wife Frances; daughter: Lynn Wooten Feero and husband Rob; stepdaughter: Carol Southard and husband Bobby; grandchildren: Tyler Wooten, Kathy Wooten, Richard Feero, Daniel Feero, Anna Feero Ware and Sarah Feero; brother: Jerry Sneed and wife Frances; sisters-in-law: Faye Nelson and Willena Moore. The family would like to thank the Jud C. Hickey Alzheimer’s Day Center and Angela Lockey with West Forrest Assisted Living for the loving care provided for Helen. A memorial service will be held at Deep Creek Friends Meeting on Saturday, February 16, 2013 at 11:00 A.M. The family will receive friends following the service at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Deep Creek Friends Meeting, 1140 Deep Creek Church Rd., Yadkinville, NC 27055, Yadkin Christian Ministries, 121 W. Elm Street, Yadkinville, NC 27055, or to Jud C. Hickey Center for Alzheimer’s Care, 1901 Central Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
