Entered into rest Tuesday, January 17, 2017, Henry Edward Colley, Jr., 67, husband of the late Bonnie Weidenbach Colley.
Mr. Colley was a lifelong member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. He worked for Smile Gas as Vice President of Retail Operations for 20 years and Sprint Foods as Chief of Operations for 10 years. Mr. Colley was Past President of the Jaycees of Georgia and Past President of the Georgia Association of Convenience Stores. He was a partner at the former Bistro 491, and more recently a steady figure at Abel Brown. The staff and patrons of these restaurants were his second family for almost 20 years.
Family members in addition to his wife include: one daughter: Tara Schafer Capps (Richard) of Evans; one son: Todd Schafer (Pascha) of Augusta. He was the beloved Gaga of eight grandchildren who were the greatest joy of his life: Isabella Victoria, Lila Grace, Bonnie Rose and Ivy Jane Schafer; Macy Elizabeth, Anna Hillis, Samuel Henry and Chandler Strickland Capps; four brothers: Peter Colley, Richard Colley, James Colley, Harry Colley, two sisters: Cecile Dougherty, Dorothy Colley and mother: Marie Colley Langley.
A funeral Mass will be Friday, January 20, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church with Father Mike Ingram officiating. Burial will follow at Westover Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 A.M. in the church narthex.
Pallbearers will be Doug Faulkner, Steve Dougherty, Tony Arnold, Richard Capps, Jr., Sean Dougherty, Warren Chitty, Troy Keene, Richard Colley, Harry Colley, Laddie Williams, James Colley, Peter Colley, Patrick Colley, Ransom Rabun, Rick Faulkner.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Aquinas High School Scholarship Fund, 1920 Highland Avenue, Augusta, GA 30904.
