Henry Taylor

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Thursday, December 12, 2024, Henry R. Taylor, with his family by his side.

Henry was born in Fort Gordon, GA. He made his career as a public safety officer and retired in 2012. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his loyal K-9 companion, Rowdy. 

Henry is survived by his sisters, Joyce Hammett (Bruce) and Barbara Strength (Robert), his children Wesley Taylor (Gena), Stephanie Taylor (Shirley); three grandchildren, Hannah Sourdiff (Trever), Hunter Taylor and Indigo Nappier; three great grandchildren and his nieces and nephews, Rusty, D.L., Sean and Blaze.

Henry was preceded in death by his parents Maj, Ira D.L. Taylor and Flora Katherine Farris and brother, James A. Taylor.

A memorial service will be held Monday, December 16, 2024, at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Tom Kalliokoski officiating.
