Augusta, GA – Herman Christian “Chris” Lamb, Jr., 83, devoted husband of Joyce Redd Lamb, died Friday, December 16, 2022.

A native of Hazleton, Pennsylvania, Chris was the son of the late Herman C. Lamb, Sr. and Josephine Yotko Lamb. He came to Augusta through the Army, stationed at Fort Gordon in 1958. Chris met his wife Joyce Redd shortly after that and they were married in 1959. After completing his military service, he continued to live in Augusta, GA going to work for the Richmond County Sheriff’s Department in 1964. He retired from the Sheriff’s Department in January 1997. Chris was a talented artist, using many different mediums and materials, using that creativity in many aspects of his life.

Chris is survived by his wife of 63 years, Joyce; son: Richard C. Lamb (Valerie), Athens, GA and his sister, Celestine McGasko of Hazleton, PA and several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 11:00 A.M. at Oak Grove Baptist Church, with Rev. Jerry Wilson officiating with visitation beginning at 10:00 A.M.
