Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, July 28, 2021, Irene vonKamp Gary, 72.

Irene was a lifelong member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. She was a Bridge Life Master, playing in tournaments all over, she was also an avid competitive tennis player in her younger years. Irene also enjoyed gardening and trips to Edisto Beach, SC. She was a longtime educator in Richmond County. Irene always supported her children’s school activities. She will be remembered as a loving and devoted mother.

Family members include her sons: Joseph Tantillo and Tony Tantillo (Shawn Percival-Tantillo); daughter: Katherine Tantillo (Chris Thornock); grandchildren: Mason Cully, Gary Thornock Clara Thornock and Joey Tantillo; siblings: Laura Van Geffen (Jack), Mary Hill Gary (Bill Huie) and Thomas Reeder Gary (Jan); sister-in-law: Nancy Gary and many other loving family members. She was preceded in death by her parents: Albert vonKamp Gary and Mary Hill Gary and her brother: Albert vonKamp Gary, Jr.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, July 31, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church. Inurnment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
