Evans, GA – Entered into rest Thursday, May 2, 2013, Mr. Jack Bartles, 81, husband of Mrs. Margaret Irwin Bartles.

Family members in addition to his wife include sons: Bill (Emily) Bartles, Steve (Becky) Bartles; daughters: Nancy (David) Sammons, Sharon (Karl) Eliason; sisters: Jean (Bill) Blackard; Evelyn (Randall) Blanchard; and grandchildren: Pamela, Chris, Drew, Ali, Chelsea, Thomas, Bailie, and Kody. He is preceded in death by his parents: Tom and Ila Yelton Bartles; brothers: Lewis, Bill, Harry, Mack, and Pete Bartles; and sister: Elizabeth Bartles Fleming.

Mr. Bartles was born in Union Mills, NC, but grew up in Columbia County, GA living the final 48 years of his life in Evans. During the Korean Conflict, Mr. Bartles was stationed in Greenland with the US Air Force. Mr. Bartles was retired from the Post Engineers at Fort Gordon and from years of self employment as an electrical contractor.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, May 5, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in The Chapel at Warren Baptist Church with Rev. Dave Dillard officiating. Burial will follow at Damascus Baptist Church, Appling, Georgia, with Rev. John Davis officiating. Pallbearers will be the nephews Greg and Andy Blackard, Tom Magill, Don, Ron, Ed and Matt Bartles. Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and members of the Snyder Sunday School Class of Warren Baptist Church.

Memorial contributions may be made to Warren Baptist Church Senior Adult Ministry, 3203 Washington Rd., Augusta, GA 30907.
