Augusta, GA – Mr. Jack C. Swan, Sr. passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, September 6, 2015. He is survived by his wife of 67 years Marjorie Petersen Swan, son Jack C. Swan, Jr. of Wilbraham, MA, brother-in-law Paul Petersen (Dorothy), and many nieces and nephews.
The family wishes to give a special thanks to Ryan, Chris, and Andrew of Southeast Hospice and also to Dr. Ray Johnson, Dr. Robert Price, and Dr. Doug Hubert.
Mr. Swan was a US Navy veteran of WWII. He worked at Ware Buick, Hart Electric, and was co-owner of LBS Supply Co. He was an active member of Curtis Baptist Church, serving 20 years on the Finance and Counting Committees. He and his wife founded the Outreach Committee serving more than 25 years. He also was Treasurer of Christian Vision for 35 years. During retirement, he and his wife enjoyed traveling having gone to Australia, New Zealand, Russia, Middle East, and most of Europe.
A graveside service will be Thursday, September 10, 2015 at 11:00 A.M. in Hillcrest Memorial Park with Rev. Sherrell Dunn officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Curtis Baptist Church, 1348 Broad St., Augusta, GA 30901.
