Evans, GA – Entered into rest Monday, February 14, 2011, Dr. Jack K. Pruett, 78, husband of Mrs. Lillian D. Pruett.
Dr. Pruett was a native of Kinston, AL and resided in Evans since 1977. He was the youngest of 11 children of David P. and Edna W. Pruett. Dr. Pruett served in the U.S. Army. He was a graduate of Auburn University and the Medical University of South Carolina. Dr. Pruett retired from MCG in 1996 as a Research Professor of Pharmacology. He was a member of the Exchange Club of Augusta for over 25 years.
Family members in addition to his wife include his sons: David Phillips Pruett II (Mim) of Charleston, SC, Henry DeJarnette Pruett (Cynthia) of Martinez; daughter, Susanne Elizabeth Paseur (Raymond) of Clarkston, GA; four grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, February 17, 2011 at 2:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Rodger Murchison officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Exchange Club of Augusta. The family will visit with friends following the service at the funeral home.
The family request in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to the Exchange Club of Augusta Charity Fund, PO Box 3884, Augusta, GA 30914.
