Mrs. Jacqueline “Jackie” May Murdock, wife of Mr. Alvia A.
“Butch” Murdock in her home after a lengthy battle with cancer.

Mrs. Murdock was born in Augusta, GA. She was the daughter of Selena Hensley and W.O.”Jack” May. Mrs. Murdock graduated from the Academy of Richmond County in 1956. She attended Georgia State College for Women. Mrs. Murdock worked at the Richmond County Board of Health. She taught Pre K Kindergarten at Hillcrest Baptist Church. Mrs. Murdock worked at the Richmond County Board of Elections, a job that she really loved along with the people she worked with. She attended Hillcrest Baptist Church for many years where she and her beloved Butch were married in 1963. They later joined Bath Presbyterian Church in Blythe, GA. She loved this beautiful little church and her church family. Also dear to her heart was the Fire Department. Her father, husband and son were all firefighters. Mrs. Murdock would say that there were fireman and there were firefighters. Firefighters had the Fire Department in their heart and she had three firefighters. She was so proud of all of them.
