Augusta, GA – Mr. James Benny Tidwell, beloved husband of Susie Tidwell went home to be with the Lord on Monday, April 19, 2010.

Mr. Tidwell was a native of Downsville, LA, but lived most of his adult life in South Carolina. He was a member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church. After graduating from high school he enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, serving for four years. His lifelong love of horses led him to become a trainer, showman, and judge of cutting horses. Mr. Tidwell was nationally and internationally recognized as a NCHA and an AQHA judge. Upon moving to the Augusta area seventeen years ago, he founded and built the Mo’ Money Pawn Shop. He loved people and enjoyed helping them.

Family members in addition to his wife include daughters: Deanna Tidwell Carter and husband Christopher of Dunwoody, GA, Travis Tidwell Bradshaw and husband Dennis of Charleston, SC; grandchildren: Lauren Carter, Gabby Bradshaw, Jack Nolan Bradshaw, Carter Bradshaw; mother: Alva M. Tidwell; sisters and brother: Nelda Nolan, Rachel Breen, Phillip Tidwell, and Debbie Thurston and several nieces and nephews.


A memorial service will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Dr. Dan Brown and Rev. Greg Hatfield officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church, 1330 Monte Sano Ave., Augusta, GA 30904.

The family will receive friends following the service in the gathering area at the church.
