Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Sunday, November 28, 2010, at University Hospital, James (Buddy) Abernathy, age 61, husband of loving wife of 42 years, Gail Kitchens Abernathy.

Mr. Abernathy worked for Deerfield Specialties for over 30 years. He was a NASCAR fan and loving grandfather.

In addition to his cherished wife, he has left his three children and their spouses, Tim Abernathy, Angie Joiner (Jamie), and Crystal Hanson (Mike), and eight grandchildren, T.J., Tyler, Katelyn, Chelsea, Taylor, Brandon, Phillip and Megan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Pastor David Brooks officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.

Memorial contributions may be made to the family.
