Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Wednesday, August 21, 2013, Mr. James Clyde Smith, 76, husband of the late Mrs. Nora Mager Smith.
Mr. Smith was a member of Windsor Spring Baptist Church. He retired from the United States Army as a Sgt. First Class after 21 years of service.
Family members include sons: James C. Smith II of Hephzibah and Willis E. Smith of Augusta; daughter: Julia Frantzich (Glenn) of Augusta; 6 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; and sisters: Avenell Hughes and Dollie Weddle. In addition to his wife Mr. Smith was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law Cheryl Key.
A funeral service will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in the chapel at Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Paul Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Bellevue Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Windsor Spring Baptist Church at 3692 Windsor Spring Road, Augusta GA 30906.
