James "Jim" Ferrell

Augusta, GA – James Carl Ferrell, 76, peacefully entered into rest at his h on Monday, December 5, 2022.

Jim was born in Abilene, Texas on March 13, 1946. He proudly served over 12 years in the United States Army, even serving in Korea for a period. Jim worked as a Nurse Anesthetist until retiring from the VA Medical Center in 2000 and Self Regional Medical Center in 2010. He was a faithful member of St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church and the Augusta Sailing Club. Jim was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He loved to go fishing, spend time with family, and relax in his hot tub.

Family members include his children: Michael Ferrell (Alexandra), Kevin Ferrell, Kelley Gassman; grandchildren: Brenna Gassman, Cameron Gassman, Emily Ferrell, and Mary Ferrell; fur-grandchildren: Harley and Bentley; brother: Larry Ferrell (Laura) and Jim’s beloved dog, Molly.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, December 13th at 2:00 pm at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors with Father Solomon officiating.
