James Francis “Jay” McWatty III
Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, February 12, 2016, 38, loving son of Jimmy and Wanda McWatty.
Jay was a loving son, brother, uncle, and loyal friend to many. He was a graduate of both Lakeside High School and Georgia Southern University. He is a member of The Kappa Alpha Order. Jay loved playing and watching sports. He was a member at Woodlawn United Methodist Church.
Family members in addition to his parents include his sister: Nancy Martin and husband Brad; nephews: Ran Martin and Blake Martin; and canine companion: Margaret. He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Emory and Margaret Farmer, and paternal grandparents, James and Elizabeth Farrer, and faithful pal Duke.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at 6 P.M. at Woodlawn United Methodist Church with Rev. Jim McCullough officiating. The burial will be private.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Georgia Southern University Athletic Foundation, 203 Lanier Dr., Statesboro, GA 30458.
The family will receive friends following the service at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, 2220 Walton Way, Augusta, GA.
