James "Don" Head, Sr.

Martinez, GA – James Donald “Don” Head 79, entered into rest on Thursday, April 24, 2025, husband of the late Sandra Head.

Don was born in Brunswick, GA on February 3, 1946, to the late Essie Bell and Jacob Head.

Family members include his son: Donnie Head (Katie); grandchildren: Elizabeth Head, Emma Head, and Houston Head; and 2 great grandchildren: Penny and Ollie. In addition to his wife,  he is preceded in death by his daughter: Jana Head, his parents: Essie Bell and Jacob Head; and brothers: Bobby Head and Ray Head.

A memorial service will be held Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at 6:00 PM. at the Chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son  with Rev. Dr. Martha Kate Hall officiating.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 5:00 until 6:00 PM at Thomas Poteet & Son Funeral Directors, 214 Davis Rd., Augusta, GA 30907, (706) 364-8484.
