James E. Herbert

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Saturday, October 28, 2023, Mr. James Edward Herbert, 65, loving husband of 45 years to Suzanne Herbert.

Jimmy enjoyed car racing, horse racing, fishing, hunting, and golfing. He was always cooking up something in the kitchen and he loved being surrounded by his friends and family. Stranger to no one, Jimmy was always the life of the party and was always there for you.  He lived a big life, wearing many hats, one of his favorites was being a loving “Pa” to his grandchildren.  He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend.

Family members, in addition to his wife, include his children: Nicole Herbert and Jenny Otstot (Joshua); grandchildren: Kellyn Lord, Bonnie Herbert, and Stiles Otstot; sister: Sue Moore; brother: Patrick Herbert (Eileen); canine companions: Jefferson and Theo; and other loving family members. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joseph and Virginia Herbert, and brothers, Loren Herbert and John Herbert.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of your choice.

A celebration of life will be held by his family at a later date.
