Mike Johnson

Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Wednesday, October 2, 2024, Mr. James Michael Johnson, 79, husband of Mrs. Kaye Johnson.

Mike was a native of Augusta, Georgia and graduated from Evans High School. He served in the U.S. Navy. Mike was a member of First Presbyterian Church, where he loved being an usher. For over 40 years he worked at Owens Corning. He enjoyed camping and fishing in his spare time. Mike will be remembered for always having a smile on his face and for his great sense of humor.

Family members in addition to his wife, include his son: Dewayne Johnson (Fran) of Beech Island, SC; grandsons: Dylan Johnson (Sara) and Matt Johnson (MeKanna); great grandchild: Serena Johnson and stepdaughter: Jaydeane Olsen, whom he had a special place in his heart for. Mike was preceded in death by his first wife: Lucy Johnson; parents: James and Gertrude Johnson and sister: Carolyn Vincent.

The funeral service will be held Thursday, October 10, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Mike Hearon and Rev. John Franks officiating. Interment will follow in Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Thursday one hour prior to the service at the church.
