Evans, GA – Mr. James P. “Jim” Martin, beloved husband of Anne N. Martin, passed away Tuesday, April 20, 2010 at Doctors Hospital.

Mr. Martin was born in Montgomery, AL to the proud parents of Gentry A. and Elinor R. Martin. Jim attended Bellingrath Elementary and Middle School and Sidney Lanier High School in Montgomery. He was active in Boy Scout Troop 105 where he earned the rank of Eagle. Jim graduated from the University of Alabama with a BA in Human Resources Management in 1976 and later earned an MBA degree in 1977. He was a member of Phi Gamma Delta Fraternity.

Jim was employed by the Kellogg Company where he had a distinguished 29 year Career in Executive Management. Jim was currently employed by the United Brokerage Company serving as Vice President. Jim was an active member of the United Methodist Church and currently attended Wesley United Methodist Church where he devotedly served in numerous ministries. He was active with the University Of Alabama Alumni Club Of Augusta.

Mr. Martin is survived by his wife Anne; son: James P. Martin, Jr. of Evans, GA daughters: Anne Katherine Martin Davis (Gregory) of Murrells Inlet, SC, Emily Martin of Atlanta, GA., Rebecca Martin Fleming (David) of Sandersville, GA., mother: Elinor R. Martin of Montgomery, AL, brothers: William G. Martin, Christopher L. Martin. Jim was predeceased by his father Gentry A. Martin.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 23, 2010 at 12:00 Noon at Wesley United Methodist Church with Rev. Robert Gillespie officiating. Interment will be at Athens City Cemetery, Athens, AL on Saturday, April 24, 2010.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials may be made to Wesley United Methodist Church Building Fund, 825 N. Belair Road, Evans, GA. 30809

The family will receive friends at Wesley United Methodist Church one hour prior to the service.
