Augusta, GA – Entered into rest on Tuesday, December 14, 2021, James Gerald “Jerry” Parrish, Sr., 90, loving husband of Frances Langston Parrish.
Jerry was born and raised in Bessemer City, NC. He enlisted in the U.S. Army and served during the Korean Conflict of 1950. He served three years in 8th Army 7th Corps under General “Jumpin Jim” Gavin. He retired as a manufacturing representative with Chemetron and worked as a Branch manager for a local welding supply business specializing in industrial, medical and specialty gases. Jerry was of the Baptist faith. He was a 32nd degree Scottish Rite Mason, Eastgate Lodge #692 in Charlotte, NC and also served as Shriner.
Family members in addition to his wife include his son: James G. “Jerry” Parrish, Jr.; grandchildren, James G. Parrish III and Bryson C. Parrish; great-granddaughter: Jade Lynn Parrish; sister: Libby McNulty; sister-in-law: Melba (Ronnie) Postell and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held on Wednesday, December 22, 2021, at 2:00 P.M. at Lone Oak Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Scott Roper Officiating, Highway 129 Robbinsville, NC 28771.
