Augusta, GA – Entered into rest Friday, February 19, 2010, Mr. James Robert “Bob” White, Sr., 79, husband of Erika K. White.

Mr. White was a native and lifelong resident of Augusta. He attended the Academy of Richmond County. He was a graduate of Georgia College in Milledgeville. He was a member of the Civil Air Patrol and enjoyed flying as a hobby. He was a former member of the Rotary Club and the Elks Club. He was an active member of Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church where he was a member of the Couples and Singles Sunday School Class. Mr. White enjoyed volunteering for St. Joseph Hospice. He always had a joke and enjoyed life. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.

Family members include his wife; Erika K. White of Augusta; son: James Robert White, Jr. (Susan); daughter: Angela Marie W. Burckhalter (Leon); step-daughters: Lorraine Walker (Larry), Lucy Peters (Bob), stepson: Michael Ott (Marilyn); 16 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents: James and Erlene White and his first wife: Mary Louise Pass White.

Funeral services will be held Monday, February 22, 2010 at 11:00 A.M. at Trinity on the Hill United Methodist Church with Rev. Greg Hatfield and Rev. Scott Parrish officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Michael Ott, Leon Burckhalter, Calvin Leverett, Joe Testino, Damien Lanelos and Clint Peters. Honorary pallbearers will be the Couples and Singles Sunday School Class at Trinity on the Hill.

The family will receive friends Sunday evening from 6:00 – 8:00 P.M.
